The Sociable Plover

<Back

Roy Tunt hovers on the brink of bird watching greatness. Arriving at a remote bird hide on the Suffolk Marshes at daybreak, intent on spotting the elusive Sociable Plover - the last of 567 native British birds. If he makes it, he will be added to the list of all time great twitchers. Today could be his big day - and he has a very strong hunch that he's going to get it right this time...

A multiple five-star reviewed show at the Edinburgh Festival 2009, Tim Whitnall's play is a wrought, taut, exquisitely balanced black comedy that keeps the viewer glued to the seat until the final full stop. A hilarious, pointed play of manners at one point, a dark, tense thriller the next. The Sociable Plover a superbly crafted, perfectly pitched who-done-what reminiscent of Sleuth. An absolute must see!
