Melbourne based acoustic virtuoso Tim McMillan together with his band of renegade everymen Brad Lewis (Bass) and Matt Crute (Drums) are set to introduce their very own musical genre to the 2010 Adelaide Fringe.

 ‘Goblincore’, as the band have coined it, combines daring instrumental trickery with a sharp sense of musical wit. Their 75 minute show presents an acoustic styled blend of music genres from hip hop to heavy metal, utilising skilful and rare guitar playing techniques with twisted comedy and the complete chronicle of how Goblincore came into existence.

 
“We had been based in Europe, working with an eclectic folk label and found a lot of variety between each gig we were playing,” McMillan explains. “Some concerts would be quite formal in style, folk festivals for example, while the next night we’d be performing to a group of obnoxious drunks in an Irish pub.”
